The inspectors may investigate alleged violations of the zoning or other ordinances adopted by Macon County. In addition to Planning staff, investigations may involve personnel of other public agencies such as the County Health Department, Solid Waste Management Office, State’s Attorney’s, Illinois Environmental Protection Agency and Illinois Department of Public Health.

Voluntary compliance is always preferred. If the situations warrants legal action, such violations are handled through the State’s Attorney’s Office.
