While the Planning & Zoning Office cannot give legal advice on how citizens should proceed under the requirements of the Building Code, Zoning Ordinance and Subdivision regulations, we would be happy to provide you with information concerning the regulations, the required forms, and an explanation of the information needed.
We can discuss your proposed project with you and offer alternatives that might be plausible; however, we would not be able to make decisions or recommendations as to how a citizen, owner, contractor, etc., might proceed on the project. The role of the Planning & Zoning Office is to provide public information to help you in the decision-making process; however, we cannot be held responsible for any actions, approvals, or denials that may result from our efforts to offer assistance.
The Office maintains records on building, zoning and subdivision activity on tracts of land in the unincorporated and has access to digital photographs of all areas in the County. Copies of the Zoning and Subdivision Ordinances are available for purchase in the Planning Office. The cost for either paper or CD is $5.00 each. They also can be downloaded from our Home Page.
If you have any doubt as to how to proceed on a project, we suggest you contact an attorney or other competent counsel. |
